I was fortunate to live in Manhattan 1978-1980, and I've made periodic trips back since returning to Texas. As far as I'm concerned, the University of Texas at Austin is "THE University," and Manhattan is "THE City."
Following are thiry-two black & white photo images from NYC, images I liked enough to print as 8x10 enlargements and later digitize, most dating from the period when I actually lived there and saw those sights.
One place I bonded with in the 1990's is Central Park. The August 2000 issue of Smithsonian magazine provided a wonderful arial view looking south. (I especially like the view of the Metropolitan Museum, with Cleopatra's needle off to the southwest of the building and morning light on the Temple of Dendur wing.)
Following are thumbnail photo images. So the complete loading of this Web page may take a while. Once that happens, clicking on any one of the images will load a larger version (actual size determined by specs of a particular monitor or printer).
